THROUGH THE WIRE: FRIDAY (02/04/11)

June 15, 2010 - Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES - epa02204291 Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant against the Boston Celtics during the second half of game six of the NBA Finals at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA, 15 June 2010. The Celtics lead the series 3-2.

24. The reserves for this years NBA All-Star game in Los Angeles have been announced. Out in the west wing joining Kobe will be Laker teammate Pau Gasol and fellow STAPLES home talent, Blake Griffin. The great rookie has dunked his way into households and youtube reels alike this season. Also suiting up in West red will be Oklahoma's most deserving, Russell Westbrook, the Dallas Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki, Utah's Deron Williams and the league best San Antonio Spurs' Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, who are having resurgent years. The Boston Celtics dominate the Eastern bench like their banners dominate rafters. Under the tutelgage of coach Doc Rivers, Boston's big four of Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen will don Eastern blue, as will the Heat's Chris Bosh who completes Miami's big-three All-Star offering. Not to be left out Atlanta have a pair of Hawks flying to L.A in the form of Al Horford and Joe Johnson. These guys round out two, incredible and deserving squads. Still out in STAPLES there seems to be no love for the Minnesota's Kevin, while hometown heros Eric Gordon and Andrew Bynum haven't made the cut. Neither has much-deserving Laker, Lamar Odom. Well, at least we tried. There is always next year guys.

48. Every team has a tipping point and the Lakers came by the hands of the San Antonio Spurs at STAPLES last night. The Lakers may have rallied back from an eight point deficit in the fourth but a buzzer-beating tip-in by Antonio McDyess crushed the home side 89-88. Thanks to the last roll of the 'dyce' once again the Lakers couldn't roll with the big opponents., just when it looked like Odoms three-pointer and Gasol's free throws where enough. Still this is basketball and of course a lot can happen in 4.6 seconds. Kobe had 16 points to go with 10 assists and 9 rebounds as he almost clinched a triple-double. Andrew Bynum recorded a double two however with 10 and 10, plus a career-high six assists. For the Spurs Parker was clicking with 21 points while All-Star Ginobili had 14 points and 8 assists. The game was tight but the Lakers where let down behind the arc. With 14.3% the Lakers only made 2 of 14 shots which is another reason why they where beaten in downtown L.A. by San Antonio. Time for the Lakers to make good away from home as the Grammy's force them to hit the road against the Sacramento Kings.

82. Keeping it Lakers like our sister site, 'Lake Show View', many news outlets and blogs (including this one, we're sorry) reported on the rumor that the Los Angeles Lakers, Ron Artest wanted a trade. Well today Ron, Ron (who had 13 last night against the Spurs) rubbished those rumors by insisting that he's happy with his part in the Lake Show. Los Angeles Times, Lakers editor and specialist, Mike Bresnahan reported that Artest denied all the rumors. Ron told press that he was "definitly not" interested in a trade, adding, I feel good every day. We've got a chance to win multiple championships here ... trying to work towards another banner." The Lakers have had mounting losses and problems recentely but their defensive dynamo reassured the press that, "We're (the Lakers) sticking together," also saying "We're moving forward. That's all that matters." You know what he's right. The more together this defending champion unit is the more likely they'll repeat their success of last year and not their mistakes of recentely. You can always trust on Ron making things feel better.

O.T. Surely it's all love and no hate now. Espeically with his heated play. Miami's LeBron set a franchise record for points in a quarter, with a former, Cleveland jersey number of 23 in the first. Now will even this make Cavs mad?...just as the Knicks have wiped a clean sheet they get some bad press. One of their scouts has been fined for conducting illegal draft workouts...impressive Raptors forward Linas Kleiza will be fossilised for the season, as the Toronto player has had microfracture surgery on his knee...that concludes this weeks NBA news reports, 'Through The Wire'. Join us at 'Basketball 24/48/82' Next Monday for more. TIM DAVID HARVEY.

24. Houston had a lot of problems on Tuesday, namely their players who were in suits and ties rather than suited up, still the Lakers recently have been problematic two. So both teams overdrew it out into overtime as they struggled to overcome each other. The Lakers prevailed however to their advantage at home with a 114-106 win at STAPLES. Kobe was magic with 32, still it was Gasol who was cinematic with a clutch lay-up with just above a minute to go before the end of the game. Bryant went with pop culture and popular consensus, stating, "He's very white swan. I need him to be more Black Swan." I'm glad enthusiastic fan, Larry David didn't bring his golf clubs to this one. Pau was powerful in overtime with six of his 26 to go along with a machine-powered 16 boards. Lamar Odom, had the best vision however, as his stats where a clear 20, 20. This guy really is an all-stats, All-Star.

48. More news coming out of La, La, Lakerland. It seems that after Mitch Kupchack's trade talk, someone in L.A. is listening. It has been reported that Ron Artest would like a trade...and it was all good just a year ago. Artest has played for a lot of teams and seemed to have found the one with these Hollywood stars, but there appears to be smoke..and fire with these rumors. ESPN's Marc Stein has reported that a source has told him Ron hopes he is the guy involved in the trade. It's a shame because Artest was one of the pivotal reasons the Lakers repeated last year as champions and will be if they catch that elusive three-peat. Sure Ron has suffered some ill-form this season and the Lakers are sick of losing and playing sporadic, but the answer isn't always to shake things up, especially as this former instigator has calmed down and let his game outburst.

82. The NBA's first regular season games to be played outside the U.S. are happening in London in March. The Toronto Raptors will face the New Jersey Nets in two games at the 02 Arena that has already held many exhibition games for the NBA over the last few years, including the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat. Still Portland Trail Blazer legend, Clyde Drexler believes that this development will span further. The Glyde believes that it won't be long before there is an NBA franchise in England's capital city. "If the demand continues, that could actually happen,'' Drexler told press. Clyde has been in foggy old London town promoting the March games and thinks that a British franchise could come even in this decade, "We're probably 10 years or so away, but that is not too farsighted to happen.'' Look out for British talent balling beyond the London eye soon. The cities focused.

O.T. The Utah Jazz will have to play without two of their high-notes today, as their foreign talent Okur and Kirlienko will be grounded with injury...it gets worse for the Milwaukee Bucks who will miss their talented forward, Drew Gooden for around 4-6 weeks as he is suffering from plantar fasciitis in his left foot...meanwhile Washington can't find a footing away from the Verizon as the Wizards are now an embarrassing 0 and 25 on the road, now that's weary...injuries and problems aren't stopping for the Lakers as Andrew Bynum has a sore knee. The Lakers will hope this is nothing serious...meanwhile their rivals the Celtics can celebrate one time as their coach, Doc Rivers is so good, he will be coaching the Eastern All-Star's this month. The Doc knows best. TIM DAVID HARVEY.

THROUGH THE WIRE: WEDNESDAY (02/02/11)

Feb. 13, 2010 - Dallas, China - (100214) -- DALLAS, Feb. 14,2010 (Xinhua) -- Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant (L) watches the competitions during NBA All-Star weekend in Dallas Feb. 13, 2010. (Xinhua/Zhang Jun.

24. Kobe Bryant is about to be made in China. Kobe wants to further Eastern and Western relations with a range of philanthropic efforts. "They welcomed me with open arms and have been very positive about wanting to learn the game of basketball," told press. CBS Sportsline reports that Bryant's initiative 'After-School All-Stars' focuses on Mandarin language lessons, Chinese cooking courses and martial arts classes. Now that's one interesting syllabus. Bryant hopes that these initiatives can expand across campuses throughout Los Angeles County. Time for Kobe to take everyone to school.

48. To keep up pace with the rest of the league, Indiana made some changes by firing head coach Jim O'Brien and replacing him with assistant coach Frank Vogel for the interim. With nobodies job looking safe, rumors have been rife about former head coach and team president, Larry Birds departure. Still this Celtic icon is one of those guys that the NBA don't want to do without. So right now, don't think Larry Legend is flying. Pacers owner Herb Simon believes Bird is doing well and could see out the year and maybe spread his wings to next season. "I still have an incredible amount of confidence in Larry and his basketball acumen, his winning tradition," Herb told press, garnishing Larry with compliments, adding, "The way he deals with the basketball side is the way I believe it should be done. I'm very satisfied." Larry once led Indiana to the NBA Finals as a coach, so the fans should trust him. Bird is always team first as he made his opinion clear, "I know if I'm not here, whoever's here, they're sitting in position to turn this thing around." If he moves anywhere, maybe it should be downstairs to the bench.

82. It looks like the ever improving Minnesota Timberwolves isn't the only thing in Minneapolis looking to get better. Their stadium is getting some love two. A $155M rennovation plan for the Target Center is being looked out. Right now the Wolves stadium is as old as the jersey number of legend, Kevin Garnett, will a revamp include his jersey in the rafters. Minny have even more big plans. They look to move the main entrance to the corner of 6th Street and First Avenue, while also putting in two glass atriums over-looking the Target Plaza. The centre also wants to look more desirable and accessible for shows and concerts while also adding a restaurant. After all the people in Minnesota have to eat.

O.T. LeBron may wish the best for Cleveland now, but yesterday he gave them the worst, as his Heat team torched Cleveland for a record low 40 point blow-out. Karma hey?...as the All-Star weekend approaches us Blake Griffin and Tyreke Evans will be the poster childs facing off in the Rookie challenge...Griffin has also been named the Rook of the month out West alongside John Wall in the East...continuing the monthly honors in the East Tom Thibodeau of Chicago was named coach of the month, while out West the decleration went to New Orleans Hornets' Monty Williams. Guess things really are looking up in Louisiana. I'm sold. TIM DAVID HARVEY.

THROUGH THE WIRE: TUESDAY (02/01/11)

Oct 14, 2010; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony (15) during the game against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center. The Nuggets defeated the Clippers 100-95. Photo via Newscom

24. Now here's something that Denver fans hope will be a Nugget of truth. Coach, George Karl believes that Carmelo Anthony will remain in white and baby blue to the seasons out. The Nuggets recently got the best of a New Jersey side that almost netted 'Melo before Russian owner, Mikhail Prokhorov killed the deal. The 1,000+ coach told press in the Garden State that Denver "can be excited about being a very, very good team." Still Anthony didn't address press on Monday. Even if he does the last season, that's when he becomes free to do what he wants. Is his silence speaking volumes? Sound off in our comments section below.

48. The Lakers are suffering a few leaks in their championship machine right now. So G.M. Mich Kupchak wants to make some moves to steady the ship. "Regarding a trade, I may have to," the Lake Show's one-time power forward told NBA.com. "I'm not saying that I've made calls today or I'll make them tomorrow. But I just don't think that we're playing as well as our talent level should allow us," he added, hinting that if the Lakers put down more games he'll be picking up the phone. After a big loss to Boston and inconsistencies by the bus load, Kupchak believes that owner Jerry Buss feels the same. It's time for L.A. To stop being so disconnected. The showtime must go on.

82. New York Knick legend Allen Houston will be honored by his old College alumni. The Tennessee Volunteers plan to retire Allen's number 20 according to CBS Sportsline. The Knoxville team are thankful for this two-time All-American and four-time All-SEC player. Houston is Tennessee's all-time leading scorer with 2,801 points in his four year career that started in the late 80's. The behind the arc purist who graduated in '93 was an 11th pick in the NBA Draft the same year. Right now the N.Y. Bball icon serves as the Knicks' assistant general manager. Fellow former Knick Bernad King and Ernie Grunfeld are the only other Volunteers to have their uniforms raised to the rafters. Needless to say Allen is honored.

O.T. Now Deron Williams will miss another game for Utah. Well they do say bad things come in threes...Eddie House may have only needed a few seconds to beat Oklahoma this weekend with his Heat but now he's going to need $25,000 for some hot, obscene gestures he made...his teams leader LeBron isn't one for the negative gestures anymore, wishing his former Cleveland team the best. Guess he wants some good karma, but will the Cavs give it him? Still there are some positive repercussions for the King as he was named the Eastern Conference Player Of The Week, while Memphis' big talent Zach Randolph took the honors out West again. TIM DAVID HARVEY

24. The Lakers donned the throwbacks Sunday night and also took it back to the old days of being dominated by Boston as they lost 109-96 to the Celtics. The C's where just too much for L.A. in their revenge game. This was the first time these two storied, related franchises have played at STAPLES, since the hard-fought Game 7 that the Lakers won along with the NBA Championship. Kobe passed the 27,000 point milestone with a season-high matching 41, but this Glen Rice number couldn't shoot down Boston's lead. Pierce had 32 for the Celtics, while Ray Allen kept up pace with 21. Garnett also added 18 while Rajon Rondo set the table with 16 dishes. With all this firepower the Lakers just couldn't clear the table. Now these big losses are becoming food for thought for the defending champs.

48. Derrick Rose has been named the 'CDW/IBM Player of the Month' for January. This is the second time the outstanding guard has been given the honor after being the first this season to be named it in January. Spearheading the stampeding Bulls to and 11-4 record the Chicago point averaged a team high, 25.9 points per game and 7.4 assist per to go with 4.3 rebounds in 37.8 minutes of average play. Nothing this month however was average about one of the best guards in the association. Percentages of .442 from the field, .349 percent three and .887 from the stripe can be affiliated to this notion. Rose had three games where he bloomed to more than 30 points and he dished more than 10 assists in four contests. January saw many statistical shows from Derrick including his first triple double of his NBA career.

82. Emeka Okafor suffered a muscle strain during a game against the Phoenix Suns. The New Orleans centre suffered some burn after hitting the deck with 1:56 to go in the first half. With some hip pain the Hornets rebounding machine joined the nest on the bench. Now the dependable centre will be monitored day to day, time for reserve, Jason Smith to step up and into his place.

O.T. Deron Williams is also out injured. The stellar Jazz playmaker missed his second game with a hyper extended right wrist...as the Miami Heat, ended the Oklahoma City Thunders home run, it was Eddie's House as the guard hit a clutch 3...Miami's star LeBron's former team the Cavaliers suffered their 20th consecutive loss...the Sixers took out the brooms as they sweeped their season series against Denver...speaking of which this week Carmelo Anthony will finally be going to New Jersey, but with his Nuggets team as these two teams face off like Cage and Travolta. TIM DAVID HARVEY.

MONSTER

The Incredible Hulk.

By Tim David Harvey.

Oct 27, 2010; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan (9) and forward Blake Griffin (32) react in the first half against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Staples Center. Photo via Newscom

Blake Griffin is having a 'Monster' 2010/2011. Just like fellow Midwest native Kanye West, but no one should have all that power?

"I shoot the lights out" Bon Iver- Kanye West: Monster

Well, get used to it, Blake does, "trippin' off the power" and making both of Hollywood's teams start studded. It's 'light's out' when they take off the Laker floor as well. Clipper nation is finally a destination fans want to flock to and future free agents will want to emigrate to. He just makes the game look...so...damn...easy. The ball looks like a grapefruit in his hands, just wait for the punch. The defenders look like children, waiting to be schooled. Sound familiar? Blake may just be the most imposing, exciting big man in Los Angeles, (or the league for that matter) even since Shaq...and he's not a Laker. Sure the Lake Show are glad to have Bynum back on the block but you know they would love to have Blake deep down in the paint.

"As you run through my jungle all you hear is rumbles" Rick Ross - Kanye West: Monster

Night after night Griffin re-designs the paint with his dunks. He cuts down frontcourt trees like a lumberjack. In fact as beautiful as Chick Hearn's coined phrase is, Blake makes this art-form look so powerful yet beautiful that it should be renamed in his honor. His damaging dunks are like dynamite, SLAM knows this. Sure there's still no one quite like Dwight but just wait for what Blake's got in his bag for this years Slam Dunk contest in front of his home crowd at STAPLES. Every game Blake punishes players with his post up, poster producing, power plays. From Tim Duncan to Timofey Mozgov and Amar'e Stoudemire to Tiago Splitter everybody can get it, with crotch rocked humiliation. In fact the leagues best San Antonio and the most-improved New York have been punished the most, (still everybody has) with countless STAT stuffing, splitting dunks.

Now how about that dunk, that's making the rounds on the youtube top 10's. You know the one were talking about. The opposition really doesn't and didn't matter however as Blake saw red, sprinting and running the floor like a bull (no it wasn't Chicago). He spun, floated like a butterfly, then dropped the hammer on a dunk that stung like a bee. Muhammad likes to rhyme, and Blake's game is like poetry, he's so agile, whereas all who try and break him down are merely fragile. Side-stepping back down court like Ali, that was no rookie confidence. He believes he's the greatest. It almost looked like this rabid talent was foaming at the mouth, but that was just his gum-shield. He's not the one that needs protection. Timeout. Yet another countless, timeless Blake dunk as this Griffin furthers his young legend. Another frozen moment in the time of NBA history. Where amazing, aerial, acrobatics happen.

"Everybody know I’m a m*********** monster" Kanye West: Monster

Griffin's really is a creature on another level. There's humans, role-player, superstars then monsters like Griffin. He averages as many dunks a game as James Bond averages women a film, but this agent is no secret. More Blake 7 then 007, Griffin is out this world. So advanced like science fiction, but this is fact and the basketball geeks just love it. Like Eddie Griffin (R.I.P. We miss you) before him, Blake is a young, raw but ready, talented, tall man that the league sorely needs. Like 'Blake Bad', Griffin's got a 'Crazy Heart' and a crazy game to match, with NBA, Oscar worthy performances night after night. Undeniable like Blake Lively, Griffin runs 'The Town' right now, sorry Kobe.

"Cause you will never get on top off this" Kanye West: Monster

Who can guard this guy? Literally, it's nobody. Sorry Howard it's the end. Sorry Garnett, you aint 'Da Kid' no more. Those images you see of Blake dunking around five guys aren't pictures. All the defenders can do is stand-around and look gormless in freeze-frame. Even the leagues best just look like the rest. From action replays, to poster and lap-top wallpapers worldwide, their humiliation is broadcast, but nobodies looking at them, their looking at B. Can't you see?

"Sasquatch, Godzilla, King Kong/Lochness, Goblin, Ghoul, a zombie with no conscience" Jay-Z- Kanye West: Monster

Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Darryl Dawkins, Vince Carter, Shawn Kemp with a conscienc, Blake is as bad as them all and you know I mean as in good. A hybrid of them all, this monster talent surely was crafted in a laboratory, that's why he was gone for a year. Sure he was a 'Naismith College Player of the Year', 'Oscar Robertson Trophy' and the 'John Wooden Award' winning stud in college, but these are the big leagues and he's no schoolboy. No one with all this power usually has the grace Blake has. His game is eloquent, he can switch it up from monster Shaq-like power to the athletic beauty of a guard. Just check out his pirouette's before he comes out of nowhere and beats everybody like the 'Black Swan'. Now that's a good look. From alley-oops that are going to turn Eric Bledsoe into a star and Eric Gorden into the next Jason Kidd, to off-balance impossible dunks like the one against Portland, Griffin is making everything look so easy. The only hard thing is to try and couple all his plays into weekly 'Top-Ten's'. He needs a separate category for himself and as for the rest of the league, forget about it.

Dec 20, 2010; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love (42) is defended by Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin (32) at the Staples Center. The Clippers defeated the Timberwolves 113-90. Photo via Newscom

"All I see is these fake f**** with no fangs/Tryna draw blood with my ice cold veins/I smell a massacre/Seems to be the only way to back you b******* up" Jay-Z- Kanye West: Monster

Still, of course the critics have something to say, 'he's this', 'he's not that', but he really is. Blake is more than dunks, and critics even called Shaq one dimensional but that didn't stop him from cutting a few championship shapes. Everyone in the league wants a 20 and 10 big man, well Blake is 22.6 and 12.8 and he isn't even a centre. The Clips still have Chris Kaman, and Gorden and Baron for that playoff bound matter. Blake is the centre of attention however and the Clippers may have started poorly, but right now they are looking as strong as the Lakers, Fisher buzzer-beater or not, and this writers a Laker lover. With career numbers like 47 points and 14 rebounds, how is this point making, rebound grabbing man not a monster? Critics can't deny him. They should give him the love like they've finally given Minnesota's Kevin because Blake could go for 30-30 one day two. Sure he isn't much of a post-game, quotable, im-presser, but this is a league where people games do the talking. So everyone else can shut up!

"So let me get this straight wait I’m the rookie" Nicki Minaj- Kanye West: Monster

He's the 'Rookie Of the Year', without a doubt. he shadows the opposition. Sure, sure he should be a sophomore, but his only slump came with the injury last year. Now is his time and he's making up for lost pine. No more suit and tie or bench days for Blake. No wonder he's not chilling, showing he can play with the smartest in the league and bench press even the most imposing, dominant, veteran big men. He's the first rook since Allen Iverson to have two 40+ games and you know what that guy did the league. There's more to come as well as Blake looks to change the game and answer the call. Who needs a new version of 'NBA Jam', when you've got the real thing on demand? Blake's on fire and beyond the excitement, hoopla and dunks his talent burns deep. Laker die-hard couldn't even fan his flames, Griffin is making it legitimate for Los Angeles to have two franchises and as for the lock-out looming league, he's saving it. Now that's a superhero we can all marvel at. A hulking talent that's turning the Clippers green with profit. Now only a creature on a whole other, out of this world level could do that.

"Aaahhhh, I’m a m*********** monster!" Nicki Minaj-- Kanye West: Monster

KEEPING UP THE PACE

Soon it won't be 'Miller Time'.

By Tim David Harvey

Swish, swish, swish! In a recent game it was Reggie Miller that was talking, while someone else was doing the playing. Reggie stepped into the Spike Lee role as Ray Allen was on Miller time. OK, so it wasn't as dramatic as it sounds, but just like Mars Blackmon and Michael Jordan, all Reggie can do now is watch as Ray Allen beats him and there's nothing nobody can do about it. SWISH! Noooobody!

You see Reggie took the bullets out his dead-eye, assassins gun a long time ago and despite a few inklings to pull an M.J., Miller didn't want to tug a hamstring two, so retired he stayed. Nowadays Reggie is a commentator and that's exactly what he was doing when he and his ESPN team watched Boston Celtic, Ray Allen nail bucket after bucket as he kept raining on Millers all-time three pointers made record a few weeks back. DAMN! Now that's got to hurt. Years ago they where talking about how Reggie was a better three-point shooter then Bird. Now that's all flying away as when it's all said and done, they may give the best three title to the member of Boston's big-three.

Still it was nothing put pride and joy as Reggie talked about Ray and his legacy. As the torch is being passed at least he can be rest assured that someone is keeping the shooters touch burning pure. Besides, from New York City to the pages of SLAM, Reggie always relished the villain role. Now what better a hero to overcome the villain then our saviour, Jesus Shuttlesworth? Spike Lee couldn't write it any better. Ray Allen's got game and he's about to get Reggie. Right now Ray's total of 2,545 threes is just 15 downtown buckets behind Reggie's 2,560. Give him a couple of weeks, games and quarters and he'll net it. Sure Jason Kidd's is in third place, but his bronze shot is almost a thou below Ray's. Plus Jason? Your kidding right. Solid, yep, but pure? This aint child's play.

Without doubt, it's going to happen, unless...nah we don't want to jinx it. Without question Allen is going to answer Miller's challenge. The bar was set a long time ago but Ray is going to pass it like law school as the books will get re-wrote. The one question remains however, which player is the better shooter? Is number 34 really one better then number 33?

Technically speaking yes...technically speaking that is. Both shots of course are historically pure, but there's something so fluid and pure about Allen's rays. From the hand and eye, plus body coordination and positioning, to the range of motion. Purity is this shooters devotion. It almost looks rigid, but it's relaxed. Honed after years of practicing at home. Like an EA video game before all that real DNA technology, but this is live in living colour. You almost expect every shot to go in, Jesus even shows those courtside miracles pre-game by turning sat down shots on the pine to water. Sure Reggie's flick of the wrist shot worked so well ESPN made a movie out of it, but Allen's just looks a bit better, and is looking even better by the game and the record breaking.

Statistically speaking Allen edges Miller two. Obviously in a matter of games, (or good runs of form) Ray's about to shoot down the greatest figure, but right now his stats across the board stack up better already. Allen (6,398) has taken less shots to get to this point then Reggie (6,486) but obviously Reggie has played more then Ray. Still at this point Allen's .398 percentile marginally passes Reggie's,.395. This is not a test.

Still, (and this isn't taking anything away from Ray) there was just something about Reggie Miller. You have to have love for someone who everybody hated. The bad guys are normally the ones you root for more in drama, whether fictionalised or televised. Seriously, who do you prefer? Batman or the Joker? Reggie played his cards right two, playing the bad guy to a tee like Tiger, just with love for the game. Now Ray Allen is a clutch king, who can shoot over anything, including prison walls, just ask Denzel, but compared to Reggie's clutch, forget about it. There's nothing between them, not even 8.9 seconds, right Spike? I'm sorry Spike who? Reggie had that, it's my game, killer instinct like only two others in history. Those being these two guys you may have heard about, Kobe and M.J.

The difference between Miller and the two greatest of all tine was that Reggie was more adept from three, as he routinely dropped F-bombs from behind the arc, two by two like Noah, three by three like M.J and Kobe trophies. Sure there was no ring, but their where plenty of classic, gold, 'Where Amazing Happens' moments that if the playoffs and conferences where different would have been perfect ends to NBA Finals. Sure Ray's threes impressed the hell out of people, but Reggie's scared the s*** out of folk. Just ask Spike Lee, Madison Square Garden and the city of New York. Allen may hold all sorts of three point records from the season (269) to the finals (8) but Reggie holds the heart of New York basketball in his merciless grip, right to the core of their rotten 90's playoff runs.

Sure, now where going further beyond the arc to Robert Horry territory, because that still isn't a determinant for how pure these guys three point shots are in comparison. It's merely just a hint. With this comparison where going into who is the better player range, mind over mechanics, which has only a little to do with the purity of the shot and more to do with everything else that comes later. As for the shooting however, critics, fans, bloggers and anyone else alike could take shots all day. The fact remains that both guys sniper shots where and are as pure as straight vodka with no chaser. Still, as Ray begins to down Reggie's milestone, another thing is as clear as Smirnoff. Statically (regardless if he's better or worse) Ray is about to shoot down Reggie. The gunslinger is about to draw. Swish, swish, SWISH!
