There has been months of speculation and most likely months more will follow but the Carmelo Anthony drama of the offseason has made some 'significant' developments this weekend. It appears that the Nuggets will entertain trade offers for the unhappy star. Now Melo may be fishing for a team and the Nuggets may agree to set a line but their not about to dangle their prize catch for just anyone to hook. Plus the Nuggets have some bait for Anthony with their contract extension that still hasn't been cast off. This trade seems almost seems cocked and ready but before the Nuggets pull the trigger they will want to make sure their loaded enough to bite the bullet. So soon Carmelo may be a single man seeking the perfect partner for a championship while Denver look for possible suitors for young talent, draft picks and salary cap relief.
Chicago Bulls star Joakim Noah (who has been linked in a potential trade with Anthony) has attracted more attention from teams other than the Denver Nuggets. It has been reported that Noah has been turning teams down two by two. Team USA, Cameroon and Sweden all came with a pitch towards Joakim in hopes that he would suit up to play for them internationally but Noah respectfully declined. The enigmatic talent has made the decision that in international competition he will say Au Revoir to other nations in favour for playing for France. Noah See's it as his "dream" to play for France and that it will make his family "proud". Joakim, who is also sponsored by French company Le Coq Sportif will be a valued and vital addition to a Basketball developing nations team.
Multi-talented Point Guard, movie producer and double (team) threat Baron Davis has been nominated for an Emmy. The stars film 'Crips and Bloods: Made in America' is up for the award of Best Documentary. Baron produced the film via his compnay Verso Entertainment about America's two most notorious gangs in order to show all sides of this culture so the audience can make up their own mind. The film that was first released in 2008 is narrated by Academy Award winner Forrest Whitaker and Baron believes that this problem doesnt just effect the ghettos but America as a whole. He says, "We all need to make a concerted effort to attack the problem, really do something as a country, as a nation, to support and restructure the way things are," and profoundly puts it that, "We have to build roads to success, not roads to the penitentiary." We wish Baron all the best for the Emmy's as he deserves the recognition for his hard work and vision in two fields. Never one to shy away from a task, Baron however will be unable to make the awards in New York for his movie magic as he'll be in Hollywood working, but this time it'll be with the Los Angeles Clippers at training camp for this years NBA season. You know he's pretty good at making magic on the court too.
