ANTHONY DAVIS-RAISED EYEBROWS
Go 'Cat Go.
By TIM DAVID HARVEY
Look what the draft blew in. Your new billboard number one. The pick of the litter. The right choice. Anthony Davis. He's cut down nets in college and now he's going to raise even more eyebrows in the big leagues. Fear and respect him. He's one. From riding Kentucky derby's to making it feel like Madi Gras in New Orleans this wildcat is about to take the sting out of the Hornets.
Tell us like it is commissioner: "With the first pick in the 2012 Draft the New Orleans Hornets select Anthony Davis from the University Of Kentucky".
Go 'Cat GO!
David Stern couldn't be happier. He's got the city of New Orleans best interests at heart and now their ballclub has found the new soul of their franchise. After losing their goldon boy Chris Paul to an escape to L.A.-even after surviving a nixing-this team have a kid who's got plenty of time to mature into one of the best big players in a league that is falling short of pivots. Tweening between Power Forward and Centre the Hornets now have a player in their nest that can anchor their franchise for more than the next decade. Along with Doc's son and the guard of the future; Austin Rivers N.O. have the right prescription for the new team for the new generation of NBA basketball. Success starts here...now. This is the future.
That's because Anthony Davis is more than a top ten pick. He's the top dog. Number one with a bulletin. With 5 of his Kentucky bredrin being drafted this year (Michael Kidd-Gilchrist coming just behind at number 2 for the Charlotte Bobcats) Davis and his alumni may leave their University with a past and a trophy but they also give the NBA a future and a legacy. Besides the ever proud of his boys Coach Cap' will find his new talent as he watches this years champions join John Wall and Rajon Rondo in the association of the best.
After leading UK with his record 186 blocks to a title in New Orleans this year Davis now gets the chance to take New Orleans teams as far as his 'Mr Fantastic' long arms can reach. With his eyebrow down and his wingspan up this guy-after gaining a few more years and pounds-could be one lean, mean blocking and dunking machine. Plus when the rest of his game fills out-like it already is-this guys going to have even more to serve up on the table.
This is just what you can expect from an All-American who was already raked up the ranks and trophies, winning numerous National Player of the Year awards to go with the Oscar Robertson Trophy, the Adolph Rupp Trophy, the Associated Press Player of the Year, the Naismith Award, the Sporting News Player of the Year and of course the John R. Wooden Award. That's some pretty exclusive company. Just wait until this NBA star goes beyond critical and hyped expectations. Just wait until he goes beyond acreditations. Then he'll be in a league of his own.
This "late-bloomer" is going to have more than a growth spurt. More than a classic college career. He's going to be more than the excitement of hype. More than a guy with the potential to raise banners and jerseys as well as eyebrows. More than just a t-shirt. More than just another kid with a kicks deal. More than just another cap and suit on a late June evening. More than a television highlight or a newspaper headline. Anthony Davis is going to make more then his Kentucky Univeristy and his native Chicago proud.
He's going to make it.
Let us look forward to new season james harden jersey, anthony davis jersey and Lakers #10 steve nash jersey will play better in next season.
