24. Is this the end? Let's not get ahead of ourselves but an MRI has revealed a stress fracture in Yao Ming's left ankle. The Houston Rockets do not know when the big 7 foot 6 star will be back but after many serious injuries and even more niggling injuries things aren't looking good for Houston Rockets and China's centre of attention. Yao briefly started the season but has been out since the 10Th of November with what was thought initially as a bone bruise, whereas in fact it's a stress fracture. Yao missed the entirety of the Rockets last season with a broken foot but the guy is still one dedicated dude, remember him trying to walk back and play against the Lakers in the playoffs? The problem with this talent is that because of his overall size he's more prone to picking up injury. Yao expressed disappointment to the press after all his hard work coming back, "I will need some time to speak with my doctors to figure out my options moving forward, but I want to thank all those who have expressed their support for me during this time. I will wait on commenting further until we have a set plan." Could this be the end of the NBA's Ming dynasty? Don't count one of the most unique and best ever out just yet, he's a fighter. Let's not miss him yet.
48. More pains in the ankle to report. Rajon Rondo has been more than day to day with injuries recently, the star has been week to week bravely playing through the pain, but everyone has limits. Now RR will have to end his courage as he is sidelined with an ankle sprain. His left foot should keep him right out of the Boston Celtics playbook plans for at least a week, if not more. Rondo picked up the injury to go along with others during the fourth quarter of Boston's epic 118-116 win over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. "I really don't have an update. One, two weeks," coach Doc Rivers reported. The best young point around 11.2 points and career best 13.8 assist are pacing this old Boston club. He will be missed no matter how many games he misses. With reserve Delonte West out as well it's a good jog the C's have energetic, spark plug Nate Robinson to keep them going. "Right now Nate's going to need to play a ton of minutes," Rivers added.
82. It looks like this might be San An's, Antonio's last roll of the 'Dyess. According to SLAM Online Spurs forward, Antonio McDyess is looking to retire after this his 16Th NBA season. The former Nuggets, Piston and Knicks forward with plenty of power in his younger, less injured days has told FanHouse,"I’ve been in it for 16 years. I’m tired. My body is breaking down. I’m just tired. Enough is enough." McDyess is more than willing saying, "No doubt" like his name was Gwen Stefani. Although he did add, "I hate to say never, that I won’t, because I still love the game," It's not about the money for a player who has done a lot in his career, including re-defining the power forward position and re-defining his own game as two severe knee injuries unfairly robbed him of his time and some of his athleticism. Already sounding like he's ready to hop he added, "I had fun. I’ve been blessed to play that long. Just to get to this point of my career is definitely a great thing." We are the ones who have been blessed to witness such talent and endurance. If this really is when the Dice hangs up his snake eyes and sneakers he will be sorely missed. It's always a shame to see such unique talent depart but his NBA history will always be storied.
